Persian rugs and the oriental rugs even the large oriental rugs are very important in our home décor. What is the deferent between the Persian rugs and the oriental rugs? Persian rugs and carpets are an important part of Persian Culture, began from being articles of need, as floor coverings to protect from cold (floor décor), to symbols of wealth and beauty, made for kings and noblemen. Rug and Carpet weaving is one of the earliest traditions of Persian culture and art, and we look backs to the Bronze Age (c. 3500-2000 BC). Even if carpets are referenced by early Greek and Arab writers, when the first Persian rug was woven is unknown. The earliest known Persian carpet called the Pazyryk rug was exposed by Russian Archaeologist Sergei Rudenko in 1949 during excavations in Siberia. The Carpet had been conserved by chance, after it survived the grave robbers raid of the burial mound. Water poured into the mound even the opening they had created, and froze, thus protecting the carpet from decay. The rug dates to the fifth century BC.

Persian styles are the most diverse styles worldwide. Even carpet manufacture has mostly become mechanized today, the coveted customary hand woven rugs are still found around the world. Since hardwood floors and tile floors have full-grown in popularity in the past 20 years, so too has grown the popularity of Oriental rugs, even new or antique, handmade or machine loomed. Hardwood floors require Oriental rugs for warmth and color.

In this mobile society, the popularity of such "Oriental rugs" may have something to do with the ability to take a valuable decorating asset along during a household move. There has been an enormous increase in the curiosity in oriental rugs.
